Charming mountain retreat in the heart of Black Mountain! This spacious one-bedroom suite with a queen size bed is perfect for couples or solo adventurers. Located just steps from the Downtown Historic District, you can easily walk to famous shops, restaurants, and breweries. Enjoy a fully-equipped space with complimentary locally roasted coffee, fast Wi-Fi and a cozy atmosphere. Please note, this is an upper-level unit requiring stair access.

Good to know

Black Mountain Lodge has five units, each with a separate entrance. There are some steps up to the front porch. From there you will find the entry where there is a stairway leading up from the front porch bringing you to Unit 4. This 704 sq ft apartment is the largest in the building. It features a bedroom and living area with hardwood floors, with lots of space to relax and unwind. The queen size bed will sleep up to 2 guests. We do not have a sleeper sofa, and due to fire regulations we cannot allow cots or air mattresses on the floor. The well stocked kitchen, which includes a drip coffee maker, is adjacent to the the living area down a couple of steps, giving it high ceilings and a good feeling of separation from the rest of the space. Through a doorway you will find the bathroom and laundry room. There is also a smart tv you can use to log into your streaming subscriptions. We welcome pets, and if you bring one please be considerate of other groups in the building. Please no dogs that bark if you are away. Dogs must be in a crate if left alone. Keep dogs on a leash at all times. Thanks!

Please note that we do not have a front desk or concierge service. Staying with us will require some “self sufficiency”. You can self check in any time after 4pm and self check out any time before 10am on your day of departure. We are available during reasonable hours to address any questions or concerns, but please note that we are not a corporation and do not have 24 hour staff. This is a very old house with gas furnaces for heat and window units for air conditioning. You may hear your neighbors. But we do ask that all guests be respectful of one another and that guests with pets, not bring barking dogs that will bother others in the house. For the safety of our guests and our home, we do not allow 3rd party bookings.

This is a non smoking, non vaping property. No smoking or vaping inside or outside on the property. 1 small pet allowed. No pets on furniture. All pets to be in a kennel when owners are not present. All pets to be on a leash when outside and in a kennel if left alone inside the apartment. It is the pet owner's responsibility to clean up pet feces from the yard. For the safety of other guests and the house, we only accept direct bookings from guests that can be verified. No 3rd party bookings.

Black Mountain Lodge is very cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect—you can walk to downtown Black Mountain and enjoy the area, and Asheville is only about 20 minutes away. I especially liked the kitchen and having access to a washer and dryer in Suite 4, which made my stay even more convenient and the WiFi speed is good for my online meetings through zoom! I definitely 100% recommend this place. Whenever I return to the area for work or leisure, I always hope to book here again if it’s available.

The stay was wonderful! The suite was warm and cozy. As a solo traveller on this trip, my only concern was that the stairwell to get up to the unit was not well lit and has a curve in it from an unlocked exterior door. I luckily know the area well and that it is very safe, but it can be offputting at first glance. Other than that, it was a wonderful place for a quick weekend get away!

This place was perfect for our week getaway. So cozy for us to watch some movies after a day out and about. The bed was so comfortable! The heaters were perfect when it got really cold later in our stay. If it was warmer we’d have walked to all of our breakfast options because everything was truly a 5-10 min walk from the place. It truly was the best place to stay in Black Mountain!

Great place not far from downtown shops, food, and music clubs. Italian food truck nearby was also great. Reasonable price being so close to town. Loved having our own little space with private bathroom. Bed was also comfortable!
