About

Experience Black Mountain from this beautiful location that is walking distance to downtown. We are just steps away from the vibrant Black Mountain Downtown Historic District, famous for its shops, restaurants, breweries and music venues. This charming one bedroom suite is on the main level of the building. The entire town of Black Mountain is walkable, making this the perfect home base for your mountain adventure! This house is over 100 years old and presents itself as such.

Good to know

Black Mountain Lodge has five units, each with a separate entrance. The door for Unit 2 is on ground level located around the back of the building. The entry to this 659 sq ft space takes you to the kitchen, which is a generous size and includes a dining table. It is stocked with all the necessities you would expect for cooking and dining. The living room adjoins the kitchen, and has a large comfortable seating area to relax and enjoy some TV. There is a smart tv you can use to log into your streaming subscriptions. A new sofa was added December 2023. The bedroom and bathroom are just next to the living room. We include locally roasted gourmet coffee in all of our suites!! We welcome pets, and if you bring one please be considerate of other groups in the building. Please no dogs that bark if you are away. Dogs must be in a crate if left alone. Keep dogs on a leash at all times. Thanks!

Please note that we do not have a front desk or concierge service. Staying with us will require some “self sufficiency”. You can self check in any time after 4pm and self check out any time before 10am on your day of departure. We are available during reasonable hours to address any questions or concerns, but please note that we are not a corporation and don’t have 24 hour staff. This is a very old house with gas furnaces for heat and window units for air conditioning. You may hear your neighbors. But we do ask that all guests be respectful of one another and that guests with pets, not bring barking dogs that will bother others in the house. Our address is visible for you to map prior to your booking so you can verify the location. Unfortunately we can’t offer luggage storage. For the safety of our guests and our home, we do not allow 3rd party bookings. *Airbnb Potential Dangerous Animal Notice* Airbnb is requiring Western NC listings to notify guests that there are Black Bears and Coyotes in our area.

No smoking inside or on the porch. 1 small pet allowed. No pets on furniture. All pets to be in a kennel when owners are not present. All pets to be on a leash when outside. It is the pet owner's responsibility to clean up pet feces from the yard. For the safety of other guests and the house, we only accept direct bookings from guests that can be verified. No 3rd party bookings.

We made a last minute trip to WNC to help with disaster relief, we booked the Airbnb around 8pm for a midnight arrival. She was very accommodating and didn't mind our last minute booking. The unit is tucked in the back of the home and felt very private. We didn't spend a lot of time there but it had everything we needed. We will definitely seek it out again when we come back to Black Mountain!
